Grown Up Glamour

O. M. G.

I'm. In. Love.

Again.

I know. I know. I have a new design love like every week. But seriously, this time its for real.
Just see for yourself...

I know right? What an amazingly beautiful house! It is glamorous and romantic, but refined as well -- not all saccharine sweet and "glittery" with frills everywhere. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm a girlie-girl and I think sweet glittery frills are great but I prefer to keep them on 3 year olds and not cover every inch of my house in them. Anyway, enough of that. This truly divine home was created for J. Lo by interior designer Michelle Workman and was featured in Veranda Magazine. Stunning.

Seriously, I'm in LOVE!

Sincere Apologies...

My sincere apologies go out to all of you for my lack of posts recently. I am SOOOO Sorry!!! I have been attending to Family matters that I needed to concentrate on and my Lil' blog here got put on the VERY back burner. Along with my dining room table project that is currently incomplete. Easter Sunday dinner will be eaten picnic style at my house unless the Table Fairy came last night while I was asleep... Didn't think so. Ahh, well, if there's one thing I've learned over the past few weeks it is this: Whatever your past, present, or future situation may be, Family is there, no matter what. I am SO BLESSED to have grown up in such an amazing and loving family, and to have begun my own family with an equally as amazing and loving husband. Thank you, God! On that note I'll leave you with a couple of quotes to think about on this beautiful Easter Sunday!

Sea Inspired Update

Maybe its because I'm a Cancer (my husband is as well for that matter) but I'm always and forever drawn to water. For some reason I just feel at home when I'm close to the water- that's probably a big part of the reason we bought a house located along a river. Ever since I was a little girl I can remember feeling a sense of tranquility and peace come over me while being on the water whether it was taking our yearly family vacations to the beautiful white sandy beaches of Destin, Florida or sailing with my grandfather on his sailboat in Lake Ponchartrain or even spending hours in my grandparents pool until I emerged looking like a walking raisin!

My love for water even extends to home interiors.

I always seem to gravitate towards colors that evoke the blueish-greenish-grayish color of the ocean and I love these colors most when combined with sandy beige, creamy white, and metallic champagne and pewter colors. The inspiration board below includes some items I would incorporate into a living room to bring the beach inside your home such as a sisal rug, lush silk drapes, a glass vase filled with white cherry blossom stems, and an elegant glass coffee table.

Dupioni Silk Drapes in Blue Smoke from Pottery Barn; Dubois Mirrors, Jolie Table Lamp, Clarus Display Boxes, Evelyn Large Vase, Satori Pillow, Magnusson Pillow in Basil, Tempo Velvet Pillow in Thyme, Clairemont Coffee Table, and Sisal Rug in Almond all from Crate and Barrel; Hand Carved Goldfish by Two's Company at Burke Decor
